They would welcome people of European descent in any number as soon as economic conditions made it possible for them to obtain a livelihood. As regarded defence they would proceed to carry out their programme which they had announced during the past ten vears. I f the people desired the country to be protected they must pay and Government would ask them to provide the necessary money. Wheprovido the necessary money. Within a year there would he tfit least one labour daily Australian paper, and within three years there would be six labour dailies in 'the Commonwealth.
