At the final shoot for the " Vile Silver Challenge Cup," Rifleman B. F. Spaneer proved himself victorious. Captain G. i\. Stephenson ran him very close. One tiling greatly remarked on was the splendid shooting by the junior members of the Hillo Club. .Air A. Seifert's Paiaka flaxmill will finish stripping this week. They have about a month's scutching to "do prior to closing down the- mill for the "winter months. It is estimated that about 200 acres of flax was burnt on Monday.* The fire was practically out on Tuesday morning. Fortunately most of it had been recently cut. Heavy rain fell bore <r.i Tuesday night.
