ROWING NOTES.
(By "Old '(Tn. ,, )
live crews are now in training for Captain Shaw's medals, and f think he will see "a good go for. his money." The rowiing of the different crews is improving every day. The Anderson Bros, are putting in the best work, and they will be a hard crew to beat. Fen ton and Burge have been put out of training, owing to Fenton havinig .i bad arm, but it is hoped that in about a week's time they will be "at it again." Mrewster and Allan are a very likely paii , , but I should prefer to see them putting in a little more work. They pull well together, and seem to get a. good deal of weight into their boat. Macintosh and Carrnthers are old hands at the game, but I advise them that if they want to make a good .showing against these young bloods they will need to put in more work than they are doing. If they don't, they will be left a long way behind. I should advise the Anderson Bros, to put fn a longer stroke, and 2ri" the-water wetter than they are doing. Fenton and Burge pull a very long stroke, but I would like to see them make it a bit smarter. Brewster and Allan pull a. beautiful stroke, but want to grip the water with more determination. I think this crew will surprise us all when the race is run and won. 1 am glad to see so much interest being taken in the race, a.s 1 Ik I ' ,, it is only a beginning of some b : g rowing struggles on the lake.
