BOYS' TRAINING FARM.
To fcho Editor.
Sir,—■•AVill you grant me space for a few lines in your paper re "The Boys' Training Farm." Until recently T held the. position of storeman at that farm, hut on the 18th ult v the manager gave me a week's notice, and refused to give me any reason for doing so. T have since made application for an explanation to the Department, and also to Hie Hon. George Fowlds, hut so far have not received a reply. T can only put it down to my action in having dared to speak the truth at the Departmental enquiry, which was held at the Farm a few weeks ago. On that occasion in answer to questions asked, T was compelled to make certain statements reflecting on the management. The manager has never complained to me about my work, and T took far more interest in the welfare of the hoys than any other member of the staff did. I think your readers, or those who have any connection with the school, are quite aware of this. 1 also wish to bring to your notice that T started a lolly fund for the boys' benefit, and after careful management T saved the sum of GM 18s from profits; tliis T handed in to the boys' recreation fund. T have the manager's receipt for £4. hut as the manager was away when T left, T banded the remainder (CIO 18.0 to his deputy 01 r Marryat). This has been done entirely at my own expense, -and yet the management has so far not had the courtesy to thank me or acknowledge my* endeavours. Tn conclusion T trust that somebody will see that the money is snent for what is was intended, viz.. encouragement of sports, etc.—Yours trnlv ALBERT L. BFA T XETT. Wellington, March 14.
