Mr Fuller suggested a list to the Governor, including Messrs Reynolds, Bagot, Townsend, Cavanagh, and Collins' and proposed to have Bagot or Reynolds sent for. The Governor, however, sent for Mr Strangways. Twenty-four members who support Mr Fuller intend opposing Strangways.

A shock of earthquake was felt last night at the Burra arid Glare. Mr Fuller in the Assembly expressed regret that the Governor had sent for Mr Strangways, and that his Excellency acted from influence be hind the scenes; Mr -Strangways spoke strongly as to the bad taste exhibited by Mr Fuller in speaking thus of the Governor. Legislation is to be initiated to settle doubts affecting mineral leases, which,, if carried, will quiet the Moonta difficulty. The weather is excessively hot and sultry. Detailed accounts as to the state of the northern crops show little rust yet.
