GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
Confiscated Lands. —Mr Ormond asked whether it was the intention of the Government to hand over the confiscated land to the respective provinces ; and drew the attention of the House to the financial position ©f Auckland, which was ill prepared for such a result. The Hon. J. C. Richmond said the land was out of the portion of the land confiscated under the land law. The Government would be glad of the assistance of Mr M‘Lean in the matter. The Hansard. —Mr A. S. Atkinson said that, although the reporters and printers had endeavoured to include the Friday’s debate in the Hansard, they were unable to do so. The following Bills were read a second time, Subsidies to Maori Schools Bill, East Coast Titles Investigation Bill, Law Practitioners Amendment Act, Surplus Revenues Adjustment Bill.
