DUEL WITH SABRES
HUNGARIAN POLITICIANS Ten Wounds and Exhaustion DEPUTY CHALLENGES PREMIER (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received 7, 11.0 a.m.) BUDAPEST, June 7. The Premier, General Gombos, was challenged last week to a duel by the Opposition deputy, Dr. Eckhart, following an alleged revelation that General Gombos provided information which was the subject of a previous quarrel between Dr. Eckhart and Count Bethlen. Subsequently General Gombos and Dr. Eckhart settled their quarrel without a duel, but this only precipitated another duel, and threatens a third. Dr. Eckhart to-day fought, with light cavalry sabres, the Government deputy, M. Szalay. Each was wounded ten times, when they desisted from sheer exhaustion. General Gombos earlier appeased Dr. Eckhart by saying that Count Bethlen had misquoted him. Count Bethlen has now sent his seconds to General Gombos.
