SUSTENANCE RATIONS
To Operate in Napier Arrangements have been made by the Unemployment Board for the supply of free supplementary rations, comprising milk, groceries, etc., in Napier. Applications from relief worker* have been dealt with at the bureau, and the most necessitous cases have been granted a small tneasur* ot such relief. Ration dockets for such milk and groceries may be presented to any dairyman or grocer, and are redeemable to the value of the amount shown on the docket. Ration cards are supplied to every grantee and the supplier (dairyman or grocer) is expected to satisfy himself by the production of such card that the person tendering such card is the grantee himself or some responsible member of the household, and each such order must be receipted by oi on behalf of the grantee. Requests for goods other than those specified on the back of the grocery ration order are not to be entertained, since the certifying officer will delete such items from th- invoice when passing the accounts for payment. Grocers must therefore pay particular attention to this matter in order to safeguard their own interests. Ration orders must bo kept by the suppliers and submitted with invoices as required to the certifvit - officer.
