WOMEN MUST KNIT
Plunket Society Appeal 1 have noticed very often at different gatherings when it is quite permissible to take one’s knitting that over and over again a person will say to her neighbour, “You are lucky having some knitting to do—l wish 1 had some.” Well, now is an excellent opportunity to do some knitting. There is nothing easier to knit than a small child’s singlet. The Plunket Society, which is always doing such wonderful work, is appealing for warm clothes for children between the ages of one and two. Warm singlets, petticoats, in fact any underclothes, knitted or otherwise, as' well as ierseys, little boys’ pants, and socks. Nighties are also needed, and if your own small folk have out-grown their shoes pass them on to the Plunket Society.
I know that the people in this district are noted for their charitable work and ready response to any appeals. Once again you are asked to help. Do get busy with some knitting—clothes for tots between one and two are easy to make and quick to knit, and you will be well rewarded for your work (which may be left at the Plunket Rooms) when you think of the tiny folk knowing ~eal warmth. — “Penelope.”
