HASTINGS WOMEN’S LEAGUE
USUAL “HAPPY AFTERNOON.” The usual “Happy Afternoon” was held in the Trades Hall on Tuesday. There was a very good atendance. On a vote being taken as to whether to close down the happy afternoons or not, it was unanimously decided to carry on, several members saying they looked forward to them. The “Women’s Peace Army Song” and “Solidarity for Ever” were sung. Out of a choice of two competitions, namely, “National Politics” and “Home Politics,” “Home Politics” won. “What I have to prepare before I pick baby up to bath him,” in juniblcd letters was won by Mrs. F. Walden. Community singing, accompanied by Mrs. McMahon, a reading on home science, and afternoon tea, brought another “Happy Afternoon” to a close.
