COLDS CAUSED BY GERMS

How They Begin—And How to Cure Them. Colds are spread by germs—germs that float in the very air you breathe. These tiny germs, or microbes, enter the system through the nose or mouth. They lodge in the numerous little cavities of the nose, throat and lungs, where the warm, moist conditions provide an ideal breeding-ground. Once there, they multiply rapidly. These germs then inflame the mucous membranes lining the nose and throat, and cause those membranes to “respond” by flooding the breathing passages with mucus or phlegm. The way to cure colds, then, is first to destroy the germs that cause the condition, and then get rid of the condition. There has recently been evolved a new scientific treatment that works in this way. The method is to sprinkle a few drops of Karsote Inhalant on to a handkerchief and inhale tilt vapours that arise. Laboratory tests have proved that Karsote vapour will completely destroy the germs of colds, influenza and catarrh in less than 10 minutes. Although Karsote is such an effective germicide, it is perfectly safe in use, even by children. Moreover, it is very pleasant to inhale.
