John Robert McKay, aged 21, was sentenced at Wellington yesterday to three months’ imprisonment, having pleaded guilty to the theft of £2 and to failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation. The accused obtained possession of a registered letter containing the money. McKay was remanded on a further charge of forging and uttering a cheque for £4 10/- at Ashburton—Press Association.
