INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PRESIDENT COOLIDGE'S PROPOSAL. CELEBRATION OF ORVILLE WRIGHT’S FLIGHTS. [By Cable — Press Assn. — Copyright.] (Received 10, 10.15 a.m.) Washington, Dec. 9. President Coolidge has proposed an international civil aviation conference and exhibition here next December in conjunction with the commerce department’s and aeronautical conference. In a letter addressed to the conference, the President said: “Our people, in common with other nations, are greatly interested in the advancement of this newest instrumentality in transportation. Next December will be the twenty-fifth anniversary of the first flight of a power-driven heavier - thin - air machine. 1 therefore have in mind the proper celebration of this anniversary of Orville Wright's flight and am confident that every aid can be relied upon in this matter.”

The announcement was greeted with enthusiasm.—(A. and N.Z.)
