APPLICATION F"OR USE OF RESERVES.
BY HASTINGS SPORTS BODIES.
There was quite a rush for allocations of dates for various functions by local sports bodies last evening when the Hastings Borough Council dealt with the following applications for the use of its various reserves:—
The Hastings Central School Committee applied for permission to hold a sports meeting for pupils of the school at Cornwall Park on the afternoon of Monday, December 19 —lt was decided that the application be granted on the same conditions as applied last year. The Heretaunga Sports Club applied for permission to cancel its application for the use of Nelson Park on Boxing Day for its sports meeting. and to have the use of the park on tho following Saturday (January 7).-- Permission granted. Permission was granted the Hastings A.A. and C. Club to change its date for their snorts meeting from 2nd January to 3rd January in view of the counter-attractions on the 2nd
The Hastings Citizens’ Band applied for permission to use Victoria Square on New Year's Eve on the same lines as last year—admission to be 1/- for adults and 6d for children.—lt was decided that the application be granted from 10 p.m. till midnight, and point out that the Council had no power to countenance any charge lor admittance.
