Last night’s “Gazette” contains authority for the raising of the following local loans:—Wellington City Council, paving and surface-sealing, £201,000; footpaths, £63,000; public conveniences, £26,875; Levin Borough Council, streets and totpaths, £2500; Masterton Borough Council, north ward drainage, £1000; Poverty Bay Electric Power Board, £44,190. When the Tongariro National Park Board met yesterday the chairman (Mr. J. B. Thompson) announced that he had received n contribution of £5OO from the Bruce Trustees towards the erection of the proposed new hostel.
