BREACHES OF BANKRUPTCY ACT

ACCUSED PLEADS GUILTY. FOUR PREVIOUS FAILURES. (Per Press Association). Gisborne, Dec. 7. Israel Gelhor was charged with breaches of the Bankruptcy Act by contracting debts amounting to £129 with five Gisborne firms without having reasonable expectation of ability to pay, and with failing to keep a proper book of accounts. He pleaded guilty. The Crown Prosecutor stated that the accused has been four timet previously bankrupt. The Magistrate: And still firms give him credit! Nearly every firm in Gisborne seems to ba on the list. The accused was remanded until to-morrow for sentence.
