SUCCESSFUL SALE OF WORK. The sale of work which took place at the Hastings Baptist Church yesterday passed off most successfully. Mr. A. Moby, of Havelock North, performed the opening ceremony in the presence of a large attendance, after which the various stallholders 1 were kept busy disposing of their attractive wares. In the evening gramophone recitals were arranged by Mr. J. Bewley, which were well patronised and much appreciated. As a result of the effort a gratifying sum was raised for church funds. The stallholders and helpers were a« follows:—Fancy stall, Mrs Nicol and Mrs Bewley; plain work stall, Mrs Sissons and Miss Ballard; cake stall, Mrs Hill and Miss 0. Ballard; ice-cream and lollie stall. Mrs Ricketts and Senior Bible Class members: flower stall, Mrs Stephens and Mrs Hawkins; produce stall, Mrs Henderson and Mrs Chappell; Christmas tree, Miss Sim and Junior Bible Class members- jumble stall Mrs Shakespeare and Mrs Hall; tea room, Mrs C. Higgs, Mrs Curd. Mis s Ford, Mrs Kean, and Mrs McCann-, magic cave. Misses Vera Gosling Gwen Sissons and Dulcie Jeffery.
