CORRESPONDENCE
It must be distinctly understood that we are not to be identified with the opinions expressed by correspondents in our columns. "SELFISHNESS TO THE LAST DEGREE.” (To the Editor). Sir,—Noticing in your valuable paper of recent date a presentation made to all the Te Kura settlers of a valuable pedigree jersey bull by W. T. Williams Esq., 1. being one of the soldiers, 1. as well as three others, am at a loss to understand why we were not given a fair chance to win this valuable bull. We suggest that the bull be handed over to a responsible outsider and all the soldiers given a fair go. We also urge that in future any gifts such as this be treated in a like manner, so that the selfish mav not have a chance of taking a mean advantage over other soldiers entitled to share alike. I may mention this is the second occasion that this childish attitude has been adopted.—Yours, faithfully. HUBERT F. GUNN.
