THEFT OF LIQUOR
CHARGES AGAINST TWO MEN. (Par Press Association). Auckland. December 5. About 2 o’clock on Sunday morning three young men were arested when leaving the premises of C. H. Drysdale and Co., wine and spirit merchants, with a dozen bottles of spirits. Entrance had been made .hv breaking the heavy iron chains which secured the cellar windows and doors. The strange loitering of two men (•n a touring car and noise in Drysdale’s premises led a taxi driver ,o notify the police, with the result that a raid followed. Before the Police Court. Alfred Collins. Peter Kelly (a seaman), and William Martin (a fireman) were charged with breaking and entering and stealing liquor valued at £l2 10s. and were remanded for a week.
