RECIPE
Write a little prose— Most any kind of prose will do. Place it in the empty mixing bowl Of a commonplace but aspiring mind. Season well with a few commas, A dash or two and a final period. Chop the mixture into short lines About an inch or an inch and a half in length Before it decays send it to an editor— Most any one will do— Who does not know a poem From a bale of hay. Serve while hot to a public Who learn about art From the movies and the Sunday papers This is an excellent recipe For making up-to-date poetry. Cut it out and paste it in your scrapbook —A. M. Stephen.
