I l ', Hunter preside 1 over ” good attendance ot the Havelock North Tennis Club last night, in the Town Board office, when a sub-coin-mittee was elected, with power to act, to bring out a set of rules for the running of a ladder competition for the season. Mr. Gloyn was elected ladder secretary. , All unhnancial members’ names, if subscriptions be not paid by January will be posted up in the pavilion. The club contemplates holding <1 “shop” ‘on Saturday. February 11, 1928. to raise funds.
Six youths, of ages ranging from 16 to 21 years, were charged at theDunedin Police Court with conversion of motor cars to their own use. lor some months past cars have been taken Hom parking places and the accused, wh. . arrested, admitted ti e charges. Other charges are pending, including the breaking open of letter boxes and stealing their contents. Two of the boys admit driving cats round to letter boxes and breaking them open aiso to driving to Company’s Bay and breaking and entering a crib and stealing goods. Ail of the accused were remanded unti' • Wednesday.
