BOXING.
LECKIE REPLACES ADAMS. At 4.30 yesterday afternoon a telegram was received bv the Napier Boxing Association from Adams advising that he had strained some muscles and was forwarding a doctor’s certificate. An urgent meeting of the committee was held and a wire was sent to Johnny Leckie offering a strong inducement fo him to replace Adams. LeckiV later replied stating he would accept the contest, which means that lovers of boxing will at last have an opportunity of seeing Johnny Leckie who has just turned down some great offers from Australia to fight there. Leckie has won every contest to date by the short-cut route, but Carroll will not he taken too cheaply, having a decided advantage both m weight and reach.
