SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCH. QUEENSLAND WINS. Brisbane, Dee. 1. In the Sheffield Shield match, New South Wales in the first innings made 167—Everett 19, Jordan 35. Hornibrook took two wickets for 25, Ovenham two for 64, and Hurwood five for 50. In the second innings they lost two for 22—Everett 10. , The weather was fine and the wicket good. With only three hours to play, New South Wales had little chance of retrieving the position, and despite a good fight by the tail enders, were beaten on the first innings. Less than half an hour remained when they followed on for the second knock. A feature of the match was Hurwood’s consistent and destructive bowling. MARYLEBONE v. NATAL. Capetown, Nov. 30.
