A thrilling story of how his son took part in the rescue of a dog which was imprisoned on a cliff-face in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales has been received by Mr T. J Brosnan, of Cavershani (says the Otago “Daily Tinies”). Thomas Brosnan is a young Dunedin man. who left for Australia some time ago. and while working at Katoomba, found the dog caught on the ledge of a high cliff. For several days be fed it by lowering meat and water down the sheer face, but after some deliberation a party of young Katoornba men decided to attempt the rescue of the dog by means of a cradle and rope on a pulley. The attempt was successful despite the hazardous nature of the enterprise, and the dog was restored to its owner, emaciated but. otherwise unharmed.
