Brisbane, Nov. 30. In the Sheffield Shield match, Queensland in the first innings made 419—Rowe not out 128 Amos 23 Everett took two for 32, ford in two for 77, -Morgan two for 41, Phillips two tor 11.
New South Wales lost seven for 131 —Kippax 27. Watson 32 Oldfield °2 Everett not out 19.
lhe weather was fine after heavy ram. The actual pp-h had been Covered and was in good cendiimn, but round the edges and the outfield "’as heavy and slow. The remainder ot the Queenslanders were quickly disposed of, Rowe earned an ovation tor hrs fine not out three-figure innings.
New South Wales opened sensationally, the first four wickets falling tor 1/, Hornibrook and Burwood taking every advantage of the pitch and doing great execution. Kippax and Watson stopped the rot fo r a time and Oldfield made a good shoving, but otherwise the visitors moved easy prey to the bowlers.
Now South Wales is in an unfortunate position, as under the rules plav must end after two hours' play on Thursday morning.
