MATRICULATION EXAMS
NEW ZEALAND UNIVERSITY. SIXTY-FIVE CANDIDATES The annual matriculation examination of the New Zealand University commenced this morning, and is being held in Oddfellows’ Hall Market street. Hastings under the supervision of Mi, J. Naill and assistants. There are in al] 65 candidates entered to present themselves at the Hastings , centre in the various subjects as F follows:— For Matriculation: Khglish, 59 candidates; mathematics, 43; French, 58; Latin, 26; history, 44; geography, 39; mechanjes, 6: physic#. 8; chemistry, 14; 2; home science, 27; drawing, 9; special mathematics. 5: music. 6. For Accountants Preliminary; Englixh, 1; French, 1; history. 4 : geography, 4; mechanics, 1; physics I ; agriculture, 1; drawing. 2; arithmetic. 5; algebra an-1 geometry. 1; economics and civics, 4. The examination will continue each day (Saturday* excegted) till the 31st December.
