ARAPUNI DEADLOCK
POWER-HOUSE COMPLETION. POWER BOARD’S ALARM. Public opinion was the force needed to break the Arapuni deadlock, said Mr H. A. Robertson at the Waitemata Power Board meeting yseterday morning. However, the board took the view that it shouldn’t meddle with the problem. As a result of the recent trip of board members to Arapuni Mr Rob eertson brought forward a resolution that the board view the lack of cooperation between Governmentengineers and contractors with alarm and failing a settlement a public inquiry should be set up. Mr J. W. Hayden, chairman, said that he would prefer the resolution in the form that the board views with alarm the non-eompletion of the power house and urges expedition. It was an engineering question, said Mr W. T. Layton, and the power boards should not 'interfere. The members decided in favour ofMr Hayden’s way of expressing (he board’s view of the deadlock.
