ALIEN IMMIGRANTS

ADMISSIONS IN U.S.A. (Received 29, 11.15 a.m.-) Washington, Nov. 28. The Secretary of Labour reported that the United States had admitted 538,000 aliens during the fiscal year ended June 30, which was an increase of 41,895 over the previous year. During the year 253,508 aliens left the country, of whom 180,142 declared their intention of returning. Three-fourths of all immigrants entering the United States were between the ages of 18 and 44 years.—(A. and N.Z.)
