FISHERMAN LOSES EVERYTHING IN FIRE. Wellington, November 29. Fire almost completely destroyed a nine-roomed house at Island Bay at four o’clock this morning. George Baxter a fisherman, who occupied the top portion, saved little. He lias been particularly unfortunate of late. Coming over from Picton fie lost his young son, and within a short time of that he was laid up with pleurisy He wa s also one of the three men who nearly lost their lives when the launch Norma went down near the Heads a short time ago, z The premises were owned by Mrs Baxter The insurances are: On the building £l6OO in the Commercial L'nion, and on the contents, Baxter £l5O, Rounthwaite (the occupant of the lower portion) £125, in the State Fire Office.
