WAIPUKURAU.

QUEEN CARNIVAL. (Own Correspondent). A representative meeting was held at Waipukurau last evening to make arrangements for the nomination of a queen to represent the country in the Queen Carnival campaign inaugurated to raise funds for the purpose of improving the recently purchased Rugby ground at Waipukurau. Mr. E. A. Goodger was appointed chairman of the committee, and Mr. Ken Mackenzie secretary. A strong committed has been formed. The selection of a queen was left in the hands of a special committee. The colours decided upon were light blue and gold.
