PIGEON RACING.
TIMARU TO HASTINGS. FAST FLYING. The Hastings Club flew their first race from Timaru, 450 miles, last Saturday. The birds were liberated at 6 a.m. and the first bird arrived in Hastings at 6.30 p.m., this being a record from the point for the Hastings Club. The race ended in a close finish between C. J. H. Baker and Dr. H. M. Wilson. A. B. Hixon’s good old racer Eldorado being a good fourth. Results:— O. J. H. Baker’s R.C. hen (Red Wings) 1045.2 yds per min. 1 Dr. H. M.
