BRIDAL TEA

“HANDKERCHIEF” AND “RECIPES.” Aliss Joan Landels jsave a very enjoyable tea on Thursday for Miss Kay Fannin, who is shortly to be married, and also as a farewell to Miss Nancy Fannin, who leaves soon for Auckland. The guests brought handkerchiefs, and personally signeu recipes for the bridge, and a charming pile of coloured “haiidkies” of every colour and description were given. The recipes too had a ■ share of interested discussion. The drawing-room looked very artistic with bowls of fuschias and sweet peas of the same unusual colouring, and tables were arranged tor “flag” bridge, a new variety of the popular game. The prize table included Airs D. Duncan, Mrs Romaine Wright, and Miss M. Brodie. Many pretty frocks were worn Mrs Landels was in sapphire crepo-de-chine with vest of emerald em broidered on white, and her daughter Miss Joan Landels, wore a Freucn frock in sea-blue tones with charming little coatee and dawn pink inset vest. Airs Reid, ef Dunedin, was in navy blue crepe-de-chine, and her daughter. Miss Af. Reid, was daintily frocked in prune-shaded georgette with a box-pleated Iront of geigi*fawn and a large flower on the shoulder. Alias Kay Fannin wore * pretty dress of pink floral voile with a picture hat of pink crinoline with velvet ribbons. Miss Nancy .Fannin chose delphinium blue crepe-de-chine. with floral fuschia tones, and a cloche hat. Others present were Mrs Wright, Mrs Lockie. Airs Glazebrook, Alf-s D. Duncan. Airs Stewart. Airs J. Hill, Misses Symes C2), M. White. Woodward (2), Al Brodie, T. McLeod 8 Murray, and J. Cameron.
