LOYAL TAVISTOCK LODGE.
At the meeting of Loyal Tavistock Lodge (Manchester Unity Oddfellows) held on Thursday night, at Waipukurau, Bro. G. Gibson, N.G., presiding, the election of officers for the ensuing half-yearly term of service took place, with the following result;— N.G., Bro. A. B. Sanders, V.G.; V.G. Bro. C. D. McKay, E.S.; £.B. Bro. R. H. Wood. Appointments to tho minor offices were made by the N.G. as follows:— U.S. to N.G., Bro. L. Jourdain; I.S. to N.G., Brother T. Bruhan; U.S. to N.G., Bro. D. Cairns; L.S. to V.G., Bro. A. C. Bliss; Guardian. Bro. E. M. Bliss; Warden, held over. The installation ceremony was ably performed by Bro. L. Stein. P.D.G.M., assisted by P.G. ’s Bros. T. Bruhn and J. Bendeich. Three candidates for membership were initiated into the Lodge and Order. The medical certificates showed that three brethren had been placed on the sick list during the past fortnight. Tho party of visitors from Loyal Dannevirke Lodge were welcomed heartily and entertained at supper. Interesting speeches were made by P.D.G.M. Bro. Stein and P.G. Bro. Stubbs, incidental to matters of general concern to the District and Order, while Bro. A. C. Holms, P.D.G.M., spoke by way of endorsement of sentiments expressed as to District and Society consolidation, and the greater cultivation of tho fraternal activities of the Order, as well as pro gressivo benefits. Bro. Bickford, one of the visitors, was accorded a special vote of thanks for presiding at the piano.
