2400 PER CENT!
MONEYLENDER FOILED. London, Nov. Id. Working out a sum in arithmetic at the Westminster Court, when a moneylender sued lor payment of a promissory note. Judge Tobin remarked. “The interest amounts to 2400 per cent. It seems a trifle excessive, even for Westminster.’’ He then tore up the promissory notes and allowed 60 per cent, interest. He ordered the women defendants to pay 2/6 a week, and refused the plaintiff’s request for costa. It will take nearly four years to pay off the debt
