HIDE & SEEK WITH DEATH.
A MOTORISTS PLEA. Christchurch, Nor. 24. Dr. Bates, who was fined £2 and costs to-day for driving over a railway crossing when the line was not clear, pleaded that a bird’s nest had been built In the signal bell, which could not be heard. He was playing hide and seek with death. The Magistrate said it was the motorist's duty to get out and look.
