BOY SCOUTS

ANNUAL ASSOCIATION MEETING.

(Per Press Association). Christchurch, Nov. 23. The annual meeting of the New Zealand section of the Boy Scouts Association began to-day, when delegates were welcomed by the Mayor, the Rev. J. K. Archer, who said ho had once been suspicious of the movement but now ho believed it gave an opportunity of doing good work. Brigadier-General Andrew assured Mr Archer that militarism had no part in the movement. Some time ago it had even been decided to elim--nate markmanship from the syllabus.
