Public attention is called for tomorrow night’s lantern lecture in the Assembly Hall at 7.45 p.m. The views of Palestine and Egypt are some of the finest seen in New Zealand and an education for young people. A preliminary notice of an important clearing sale at Paki Paki on account of Mr. J. Aranut, conducted by Messrs. Gill Bros, on Tuesday next, appears on page 10 of this issue. The dairy stock are. in good condition and are particularly good. The horses are also well known and are really good. The Hup. car is also like new, being the latest straight-eight. Anyone requiring any of the above should not miss this sale.
Williams and Kettle, Ltd., in conjunction with the H.B. Farmers’ Coop. Assn., Ltd., will conduct an unreserved sale of timber on account of Messrs. McLeod and Gardner, Ltd., at the mill, Puketitiri, on Thursday, Ist December at 10.30 a.m. Puketitiri timber is well and favourably known in this district, being hill grown, at an elevation of about 2000 ft, and is generally clean and straight in grain. The vendors are well known, and their classing and grading is recognised as thoroughly reliable, so buyers can rely on'getting timber fully up to standard grades. The timber can remain at the mill up till six weeks after the sale, and the vendors will render assistance in loading. This is an excellent opportunity to secure timber at your own price as it is for side absolutely without reserve. Four draught horses used for tram work will also he offered. Cars will leave the office of the auctioneer* on the morning of the sale.
