44-HOUR WEEK
REFUSED BY COURT.
INJURIOUS IO INDUSTRY.
(Received 22 11,25 a.m.) Melbourne, Nov. 22.
On a majority judgment, the Commonwealth Arbitration Court refused the application by the Federated Agricultural Implement and Machinery and Iron Workers’ Association of Australia for a forty-four hours week in the agricultural implementmaking industry, as the reduction of the working week would injure the industry and weaken it in face of keen overseas competition.
