WOOL
WANGANUI SALE OPENS BIDDING -ACTIVE THROUGHOUT HOGGET WOOL BRINGS GOOD PRICES. (Per Press Association). Wanganui, Nov. 22. At the wool sale 11,000 bales were offered, against 8,000 for the corresponding sale last year. A full bench of buyers was present and bidding was active throughout, Bradford being ’more noticeably on the market than at any of the previous sales this season. The Continent was buying freely with keen competition from Germany at intervals. AU good hogget wool brought exceedingly good prices, particularly any well classed and skirted. The only line that showed slight slackening as compared with other sales was pieces. Lambs were neglected owing, not doubt, to the absence of orders, it being too early in the season for this class of wool. The top price of the sale for crossbreds was 20|d, for fine hogget wool. Numerous lines sold at 14d. 15d. and 16d. LITTLE BUSINESS AT BRADFORD (Received 22, 12.30 p.m.) London, November 21. There is little business at Bradford. Prices are protectively firm, pending the opening of the London sales.—(A, and N.Z.)
