WAIPUKURAU STOCK SALE
MODERATE CATTLE YARDINC. NO SHEEP ENTRIES. At Waipukurau to-day there was a moderate yarding of cattle, including some very prime bullocks from Mt. Vernon, also several prime cows on account of various vendor. Prices for fats were main, tamed at late rates and encouraged by good quality competition was keen. The store pen held some attractive lines of station cattle, but bidding in several instances failed to reach the reserve. Three or four fine Hereford bulls failed to sell. There were no entries of sheep today. FAT CATTLE. Cows: Prime £7 15/- to £7 17/6; medium, £5 io/- to £6; light, £5; unfinished, £4 16/-. Bullocks: Trirne, £ll 15/-. STORE CATTLE. Cows: 52 Ist class 2f-yr P.A. heifers, 1 mark—no better bred, grown, or conditioned line than this has been ottered this year—passed at £6 21 hellers of same line, but not quite so good, passed at £5 10/-; 40 P.A. H. cross 16-months heifers—a useful line in ordinary store condition fetched £4; 34 m.s. Hereford yearlings, fairly well bred, but the majority small, passed at £3 17/-; 14 2j-yr P.A.-H. empty heifers, well grown, and in fair store condition, £5 6/-; 12 yearling Shorthorn, attractive cattle, passed at £'3 18/6; 4 Red Polled cross 2f-yr heifers realised £4 10/-; 2 small 2-yr hellers, £3 10/-; 5 Hereford cross 18month heifers, £2 16/-. Bullocks and Steers: 18 3-yr P.A.H. cross store steel's, fair line, £7 12/-; 2 and 3-yr steers, mixed breediing, ordinary condition, £4 16/-; 1 B.H. weaner steer £3; 2 3-yr steers, hard and badly bred, £3; 3 small Hereford ■steers, £4 5/-; 2 small Holstein £3 11/-; 1 3-yr Holstein, fresh condition £5 15/-; 5 2-yr P.A.-H. steers in good store condition, £6; 3 3-yr mixed steers, £4 15/-. DAIRY CATTLE. Four 2-yr Jersey empty heifers, £3 7/6; 2 aged empty dairy cows, £3; 2 empty Jersey heifers, 2-yrs, £2 15/-; 1 Holstein weaner, £2; 2 young Holstein empty cows, £2 18/-; 8 2-yr Jersey empty heifers., £3 10/-; 2 yearling Jersey heifers, £4 5/-; 1 small Jersey springing heifer, £4 5/-; 1 Holstein springing heifer, quiet and well grown, £4 7/6.
