AUCKLAND BRANCH MEETING RULES 77 and 53. (Per Press Association). Auckland, November 21. Disagreement in the ranks of the E.F.C. Association of the New Zealand Railways was discussed at a meeting of 200 members of the Auckland branch. Mr Lewin (president )and Mr McArley (egeneral secretary) explained that Mr R. Caroll had been displaced from the Presidency under Rule 77. which stated that anyone who had been removed from th<s footplate owing to failing vision could not hold' office.

Mr Carrol stated that according to Rule 53 the executive council was the body to interpret the rules, and it had decided to retain him as president. No resolution was passed. The Auckland Association recently forwarded a remit to the executive council, asking that Rule 77 be deleted.
