PIGEON RACING
HASTINGS CLUB. CHRISTCHURCH RACE. The above club flew their second race from Christchurch last Saturday, the weather being perfect for pigeon racing. The birds were liberated at 6.30 a.m, and the first bird arrived at Hastings at 4 o’clock, Air C J. H. Baker winning by a good margin He also wins Dr. Wilson’s special prize of £1 1/-. The doctor offered the special to the winner of the first Christchurch race. He won that himself, so he forwarded it on for this race. Next Wednesday night the club will hamper up for Timaru. Re suits:— Air, C. J. H. Baker’s b.c. cock Liberty. 1091.4 yards per minute, 1. Dr. H. Al Wilson’s b.c. cock No. 111. 1081.8 yards per minute, 2. Mr. II Fannin’s b.c. cock Goodness, 1063.2 yards per minute. 3. Other lofts: A. B. Hixon. A. Harrison.
