GAMES IN HAWKE’S BAY RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S PLAY. IDEAL WEATHER. Ideal weather prevailed for the howlers of Hawke’s Bay on Saturday when all the greens were well patronised. The majority of the clubs advanced one stage in the progressive rinks contest, while games for club trophies were also played. HASTINGS CLUB.

Brown, Schofield, 22; Upchurch, Williams, Dunn, Wellman, 21. Short. Murray, McGregor, 23; Frude, Hackett. Hampson, Sutherland, 12. GAMES BY ELECTRIC LIGHT. The St. Leonard’s Club have installed electric lighting over their green so as to enable players to reap the full benefit of the Daylight Saving Bill. It has been decided to hold he official opening on the green on Wednesday evening next at 7.30 p.m., and as all the local clubs have been invited to send teams to participate in a friendly roll-up a full muster of enthusiastic bowlers to try their skill at drawing to kitty unosr artificial light is assured. This is an innovation so far as Hastings A concerned and, as in other towns, it should ho a great attraction. After the opening night a small charge of owe shilling for the evening’s plav ‘dll be made, and as it is intended to hold a series of competitions payers may arrange and enter their owwn teams; or, if they
wish, may enjoy a friendly roll-up. The public are at liberty to occupy the seats around the green and watch the play. PORT AHURIRI. The results of games played at Pi/V Ahuriri were as follow:— L. O.
