Unemployment Allowances: Speaking at Melbourne at the annual conference of the Victorian Association of Ladies’ Benevolent Societies, the chief secretary said the Government would have to consider legislation to provide unemployment allowances such as existed in other parts of the world. The Steegs Reach Rabot: The captured Steeg party has been released, and arrived at Rabot. It is understood that £64,000 was paid in ransom.
