Lucky or Unlucky: A vehement protest was made to the Mount Albert Borough Council on Tuesday evening on behalf of a resident who objected to the number 13 being attached to his front gate. He said that it was a matter of sentiment, and suggested that his place should be officially known as 12A. “I move that no number be put on the gate,” said a sympathetic councillor. “That’s not fair to the owner of No. 12.” said another councillor. “Anyrate. what's wrong with No 13?” “Well if you put thirteen on his gate, he will only take it down,” was the reply. The council decided not to bow to sentiment Auckland “Star."
