IRISH FREE STATE
COSGRAVE DEFEATED VOTE REGARDED A 8 ONE OF NO-CONFIDENCE. DEBATE TO TAKE PLACE. (British Official Wireless). (Received 8, 12.30 p.m.) Rugby, Nov. 17. The Irish Free State was defeated by 66 votes to 64 in Dail Eireann yesterday when a motion against t&em calling for a commission to investigate the claims of British ex-service-men in the Irish Free State was carried. President Cosgrave announced his determination to regard the vote as one of no-confidence in the Government and this will be debated to-day or to-morrow. CRISIS UNLIKELY. (Received 18, 1.25 p.m.) London, Nov. 27. The defeat of Mr. Cosgrave is unlikely to result in a crisis. Captain Redmond declines to regard the motion as a party one or to table a no-confidence motion. Mr.-Cosgrave. in Dail to-day, stated that the Government would consider the motion in a few days.
