UNECONOMIC AND UN-CHRIST-IAN. METHODIST SYNOD S VIEWS. <Per Press Association). Ashburton, November 17, The South Canterbury District Methodist Synod passed a resolution that: “In view of Sir William Robertson's trenchant attack on war. we believe that warlike preparations are both uneconomic and un-Christian, and we believe the Church should definitely set its face against tile continuance of compulsory military training, believing that the present system is inimical to the best interests of our nation, and suggest the adoption of the British volunteer system.”
