HAWKE’S BAY BOARD MONTHLY MEETING. GENERAL BUSINESS. The monthly meeting of the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board was held at the Napier Hospital vesterdny afternoon. Present: Messrs J. «• Andrew (chairman). G. A. Maditison, F, B. Logan, G. McKay, A. E. Bedford, W. Shrimpton, G. Priest and H. Hill. The Public Works Department wrote submitting costs for extras regarding the second theatre in the Special Services block and asked the board’s approval of the contract price.—Approved. The Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Committee wrote asking whether the board has yet decided on a method of cooking for the Hastings Hospital, or whether thev would dosire a further conference.—On Mr. Maddison's motion it was decided to instruct the board’s engineer to report on the matter, and which report be referred to the sub-committee to confer with the Hastings sub-com mittee. The Postmaster-General wrote ex plaining that he had no power to give information regarding Post Office Savings Bank accounts, except as provided for by Acts of Parliament, and regretted that he could not therefore accede to the board’s inquest .—Received. The Wairarapa Hospital Board wrote stating that the board’s a<counts had now been passed for payment hut requested that thev 1>» allowed to be deferred until the framing of their next rear's estimates, otherwise this payment would disorganise their finances The inquest was agreed to, but interest would be expected on the amount. The Waipawa Hospital Board wrote stating that matters were not vet adjusted between their board and the Dannevirke Board and asked that the board split the claim np as between the newly-constituted hospital hoards —lt was decided to reply stating that the Minister had already agreed to adjudicate on the matter and regretted that there wag no other course than to have a settlement effected. FINANCIAL. Vouchers totalling £3.838 12/10 were passed for payment, while inter, mediate payments amounting to £2.396 10'- were confirmed. The monthly balance statement showing a credit balance of £3,315 7/8 was approved. On the recommendation of the Fees Committee it was decided that fees totalling £3,077 6/5 be written off. MATRON’S REPORT. The matron (Miss Rose Macdonald) in her report for October stated as follows: Sisters Roy and Haultain Nurses McCreedy. Lloyd. andyGoodson (2) are on holiday leave, and Nurses Pitcaithly and Callaghan are on sick leave. Having completed their terms of training. Nurses Leckie and Burdett wish to 'be relieved of their duties. McHardy Home: 15 admissions. 12 babies born. 58 patients attended the ante-natal clinic. There are at present in the home 13 women, >'allies. District Nurse: 189 visits to houses. 114 treatments at office. 21 miscellaneous calls, donations receiv cd £1 17s 6d.
