BIG YARDING OF CATTLE
SMALL ONE OF SHEEP.
Again there was a comparatively big yarding ot fat and store cattle at Waipukurau to-day and a small yarding of sheep. The fat cattle were <>t distinctly better quality and finish than those offered through these yards for some time past, resulting in greatly improved competition and prices, life store cattle yarded were also of good quality and prices show a distinctly hardening tendency. Only one or two pens of store sheep were offered, 2-ths off shears finding a good market. FAT CATTLE. Cows: Prime £7 7/6 to £B, medium £6 8/6 to £6 18/6, light £5 8/6. unfinished £4. Bullocks: Medium £9 12/6, light £7 5/-, heifers (medium) £5 5/-, light £4 to £5. STOBE CATTLE. Bullocks and Steers: 16 P.A. 2 and 3-yr steers in fresh store condition £6 26, 18 S.H. store bullocks, fairly well grown, £7 17/6; 33 3-yr Hereford steers in fresh condition, ex Mangakuri Station, passed at £6 10/-; 3 station bullocks, hard and narrow, realised £5 15/-; 10 yearling P.A.-H. cross steers, fairly well grown, light condition, £4 10/-; 5 •small yearling P.A. steers £3 18/-; 7 2-yr P.A. steers, fair quality, £5 12/6; 9 3-yr Hereford cross store steers were well sold at £6 3/-; 1 2yr Hereford steer, fresh condition, £5 11/-; 1 2-yr Hereford steer (weedy), £4 15/-; 3 hard conditioned bullocks, big frames, £6 18/-; 4 Hereford cross store steers £5 6/-; 2 dairy bred steers £3 10/-; 1 small .Jersey steer £1 15/-; 1 poor Jersey steer £1 5/-.
