The Mahora Swimming and Lifesaving Club intend opening their season on Thursday night, 17th, at 8 p.m., when the public are cordially invited. A good programme has been arranged and given fine weather a good night’s amusement is guaranteed. The body of William Roberts, aged 30, a single man who had been missing since yesterday from Waipori Falls, Otago, was found in the Waipori river uiis morning. The deceased was on a holiday from Wanganui and left for Waipori on a fishing expedition, Matters dealing with the proposed Here Here stream bridge, the joining of Simla Avenue to Gilpin road, and the new stock road from Havelock North to Hastings, were to-day referred by the Hawke’s Bay County Council to Crs. T. E. Crosse and T. Mason Chambers, with power to act.
